Core Values

Guiding principles that shape Wide Spectrums’s mission and vision

Biblically centred

The Bible is the revelation of God to us; most significantly, it is the revelation of Jesus. Through scripture, the Spirit continues to lead people in their situations as he inspires people to understand God’s word where they are.
I try to use scripture be the most crucial source of the theology expressed on this site while allowing space for engaging different perspectives and interpretations.

Traditionally Trinitarian

Trinitarian faith is the greatest gift that Church tradition gave us. The church used the Bible to show us the compelling truth that God loves us so much to become fully human for us, so that we can be healed of all our brokenness and live whole lives in a relationship with him.

Gospel Centred

The good news of Jesus is that he came to restore us to all our brokenness, including forgiving us and healing our insatiable inclination to live in ways that make us distant from God, hurt ourselves, and wound others. He came so we can be whole and live in a harmonious relationship with God, ourselves, each other, and the world.

Resolutely Inclusive

Because Jesus came, died and rose again for all humanity, theology must be accessible to all who follow Jesus. Therefore, while I try to write convincing theology, I hope that people with diverse Christian perspectives will find material that meets them where they are. Wherever you sit on spectrums like conservative or progressive, mainstream or evangelical, I hope my theology will be as welcoming as it is challenging. Finally, as a disabled person, I want the site to be accessible for disabled people as well.
